Lee: Hello! I have modded over a dozen zines, and I'm excited about this zine idea! My favorite thing about JJK is the worldbuilding. My card has a list of my zine experience, but you can also find me RTing zine stuff on my Twitter. I'm so excited to partake in this zine!

Mimori: Yooo, I'm Mim! I helped work on Vol 1 and I'm excited to be here again. At my day job a few of the things I produce are magazines and social media graphics as a designer. I love the characters and world of JJK, and the incredible artwork and writing that the fandom creates from it. I look forward to seeing everyone's contributions, and thank you to everyone supporting us! TUMBLR

Is this zine SFW?Like Vol 1, this is a completely SFW zine. There are general content warnings for body horror, mentions of death, blood, and grief. In Vol 1, most pieces erred on the side of angst, though we had a mix of angst/bittersweet and fluff.

We have a total of 5 writers, 9 merch artists, and 18 artists (illustrations and comics).

Contributor guidelines

applicable for vol 1 only

WritersRequired:
- 3 SFW samples all placed in one Google/Dropbox folder, each under 2,500 words.
- At least one standalone piece (a completed oneshot). This piece can be a reworked excerpt as long as it reads like a standalone piece with a beginning, middle, and end. The other two samples can be unedited excerpts.
- At least one JJK piece
Recommended:
- At least one sample that is Gojo-centric, Geto-centric, or Satosugu-centric. We would like to see your characterization of them!
Contributor expectations:
- Each writer will submit one 1750-2500 word fanfiction created for the zine and its theme
Page ArtistsRequired:
- 3 SFW samples all placed in one Google/Dropbox folder
Recommended:
- A JJK piece is recommended, but not required
- One sample that is Gojo-centric, Geto-centric, or Satosugu-centric
- A fully rendered piece with a completed background
Contributor expectations:
- Each artist will submit one artwork created for the zine and its theme
- Page artists will also have the option to volunteer to create stretch goal merch, though this is not required
Merch ArtistsRequired:
- 3 SFW samples all placed in one Google/Dropbox folder
Recommended
- At least one sample of a merch item you have designed or produced before
Contributor expectations
- Each merch artist will submit one complex merch design (example: miniprint) OR two simpler merch designs (example: a pair of buttons, a pair of die cut stickers)
- Merch artists will also have the option to volunteer to create stretch goal merch, though this is not required
- Merch we may be interested in, though we are open to other options: acrylic charm set, enamel pin set, stickersheet, prints, polaroid set, poster, desktop/phone wallpaper, buttonset.
*Writers will be allotted 10 pages (about 2500 words in a size A5 zine), so with an ~80 page zine, we can accept about 4 writers, 30 artists, and 5 merch artists. These numbers may change!Tech HelpWe've gotten some CuriousCats with people confused about how to make the portfolio, so we've made a tutorial to hopefully help. All applicants will be asked to place three samples into a Google folder or Dropbox folder. To do this in Google Drive:
- 1. Make a folder in your Drive by clicking New --> Folder.
- 2. Double click on the folder to open it.
- 3. Now it's time to upload your pieces. Artists, upload your piece to this folder by clicking New --> File Upload. Writers, if you have your fics as a Word Document, you can upload them as Word Documents. Alternatively, writers can click New --> Google Doc to make a new Google Doc, and then paste their fanfiction into the document. Do this for each of your pieces so that you have three files in your folder.
- 4. Rename your files so that they are named in the order you'd like us to view them. For example: Sample 1, Sample 2, Sample 3.
- 5. Share your folder. To do this, right click on the name of your folder (if you are currently viewing the contents of the folder, it will be rightmost name on the top bar. If you are currently viewing just the folder name, then just right click on the folder itself). Then, select Share in the dropdown menu that appears. In the "Get Link" box that appears, click "Change to anyone with the link" to change it so it says "Anyone on the internet can view." Then, copy this link. This is the link we will open to view your samples.
- 6. Test your link by opening it in an incognito window to make sure we can view it.
If you are having trouble with this, it is also okay to upload everything to a single Google Doc, though this is not preferred.Q & ACan I edit/update my samples during the application period?
Yes, but please DM or email us with to let us know that you've made changes so we can update that!
When do applications close?
Applications will close at 11:59PM PST on March 15th.
Can you apply for multiple positions?
Yes, of course! We'd love to see your application to multiple positions. However, if accepted, you will be accepted for one position.

contributor and zine goals/expectations

We would like this zine to be an understanding space. If accepted, each contributor will be asked to keep up with their piece according to our check-in and final submission schedule. In the case of personal circumstances or conflicts, extensions will be granted. We would like this zine to be a safe space. We would like our Discord to be a kind, drama-free zone; as such, all content will be SFW and controversial topics should be avoided. Sharing works in the server with violence equivalent to what is in JJK is okay, but we ask that everybody be considerate of others if they express discomfort. Treating each other with kindness and respect is expected. We believe we should compensate contributors and mods for their work. Each contributor will be guaranteed a free digital and physical zine, paid out of pocket by Mod Lee in the case that the zine does not break even. Leftover money will contribute to free shipping, a free full bundle, and/or split evenly among all individuals involved above the age of 18. Items not comped will be available to contributors at production price. We aim to produce a quality product to celebrate Gojo, Geto, and Satosugu! We hope that everybody tries their best according to their capabilities. We hope that everybody has fun! Though we hope that this product can be the best it can be, at the end of the day, we’re all just a bunch of fans doing this for fun :)
